What counts for each criterion?
Named doctor
64 of 96 clinicsThe website names the doctor who performs or leads hair transplants by full name, with a medical title (for example "Dr." or "Op. Dr."). A brand name or "our expert team" does not count.
Why it matters: In some clinics much of the surgery is done by technicians. A named doctor is the first sign that a physician is accountable for your procedure.
How to check it yourself: Ask for the doctor's full name and check their registration with the Turkish Medical Association (Türk Tabipleri Birliği).
Who does which step
40 of 96 clinicsThe website names at least one surgical step the doctor performs personally, such as channel opening, extraction or implantation. "Doctor-led" or "supervised by a doctor" without naming a step does not count. The best websites also say which steps technicians do.
Why it matters: The result depends on who opens the channels and who places the grafts. "Doctor-led" can mean the doctor only draws the hairline.
How to check it yourself: Ask in writing which steps the doctor performs personally and how many patients the team operates on that day.
Published price
47 of 96 clinicsThe website publishes a price or price range in euros, dollars or pounds. "Contact us for a quote" does not count.
Why it matters: A published price lets you compare clinics before you share photos and personal data, and makes last-minute price changes harder.
How to check it yourself: Get the total price in writing, including graft count, and ask whether it can change after the consultation.
Written package contents
58 of 96 clinicsThe website lists in writing what the price includes: at least the hotel, transfers and one medical item such as medication, a care kit or follow-up.
Why it matters: Hotel, transfers, medication and follow-up can add hundreds of euros if they are not included.
How to check it yourself: Ask for a written list of everything included and what you will pay extra for.
Ministry licence or authorisation
38 of 96 clinicsThe website shows its Ministry of Health licence or International Health Tourism Authorisation, ideally with the certificate number. Private certifications (ISO, TÜV) and memberships (ISHRS) are not a licence and do not count.
Why it matters: Clinics treating foreign patients need a Ministry of Health facility licence and an International Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate.
How to check it yourself: Ask for the certificate number and check the facility on the Ministry of Health's list of authorised health tourism facilities.
Where the surgery takes place
52 of 96 clinicsThe website says where the surgery takes place: the clinic's own medical centre or a named partner hospital, with an address.
Why it matters: Some brands are sales offices that rent operating rooms. Knowing where you will be operated on tells you which licence and which team apply.
How to check it yourself: Ask for the name and address of the facility where the surgery takes place, and check it matches the licence.
Written guarantee or complication policy
9 of 96 clinicsThe website publishes a written guarantee, touch-up or complication policy that says what is covered. A slogan such as "guaranteed results" without terms does not count.
Why it matters: A guarantee without terms cannot be claimed. Written terms tell you what happens if grafts do not grow or a complication occurs.
How to check it yourself: Ask for the guarantee document before paying: what is covered, for how long, and what you must do to keep it valid.
Independent reviews
74 of 96 clinicsThe clinic has a public profile with reviews on an independent platform (Trustpilot). Testimonials hosted on the clinic's own website do not count.
Why it matters: Reviews on the clinic's own website are selected by the clinic. Independent platforms show complaints too.
How to check it yourself: Read the 1- and 2-star reviews on Trustpilot and Google, and look at how the clinic replies.

In September 2026 we opened each clinic's official website, including its pages on doctors, prices, packages, guarantees, FAQs and contact, and looked for each of the 8 disclosures. Reviews were checked on Trustpilot. A ✓ is only given when the information is on the clinic's own site, and it links to the exact page.
This index measures what a clinic discloses, not how good its results are. A ✕ means "not found on the website", not "unsafe" or "unlicensed". A clinic can be excellent and still publish little; use the gaps as questions to ask before you book.

We re-check every clinic's website at least twice a year and whenever a clinic sends us a correction. The check date is shown at the top of the page.
